Join us at the 3rd Annual Quality Matters Conference November 7-9 in Baltimore. We invite you to explore our program and conference workshops. The program and schedule is now posted.

Our conference is focused on online and blended learning course quality, faculty professional development, and collaboration based on the Quality Matters Rubric. We have an excellent program planned. QM Workshops will inspire attendees with hands on know-how to design their online courses to meet the standards laid out in the Quality Matters Rubric and to implement an integrated quality assurance process. Take advantage of workshops at the conference at significantly reduced rates.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Quality Standards Today and Tomorrow” and will be held at the Sheraton Inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD November 7-9, 2011. The conference includes pre-conference workshops, a reception, a keynote address, many concurrent sessions, networking opportunities, exhibits, and post-conference workshops. Tuesday's Networking Activities

We are glad you will be attending the QM Conference! We have some fun activities planned for Tuesday evening. These options will give you a chance to network with other attendees while having an enjoyable evening. All three of these activities are optional, but for planning purposes, we would like you to sign up for them. Space is limited, so we recommend you reply quickly.

1. Poker, Pubs and Practices
Meet by the registration tables at 6:30PM

Join QM staff and fellow colleagues as you collaborate and share best practices while taking a tour of the historic Fells Point pubs.
Each team will consist of 5 members from different institutions. Each team member receives a playing card to begin. At each pub stop, one team member may trade their card for another random card by providing a best practice using QM.
At the designated time the team with the winning hand will win a prize. We will use the WSOP poker hand rankings: http://www.wsop.com/poker-hands/. In the event of a tie, each team will draw a card from the deck. High card wins.
No cost: Any food or beverages purchased will be up to each individual participating. Appetizers and full menus will be available at each pub for dinner. Cab service is highly recommended.

2. Quality Matters Gives BACKpacks!
Meet in Harbor View I at 6:00PM

Please join us Tuesday evening from 6-8pm to stuff backpacks for a local Baltimore Elementary Schools. This activity will require a $20 cash donation to cover the cost of the backpacks and supplies. We will present the backpacks to a local school representative on the last day of the conference. Come and collaborate with your fellow subscribers, and donate a few hours of your time as Quality Matters gives back.

3. Dominoes!
Meet at 7:00 in Harbor View II

Join your colleagues for a night in of spirited strategy playing dominoes! Grab a bite at the Oriole Grille or nearby restaurants and after, join Brenda Boyd and Marijane Hakun for dominoes in the Harbor View II room on the second floor. We'll play to a set score and fabulous prizes await the high scorers. After a long conference day, it's nice to kick back and unwind with friends old and new, so please join us for a fun evening of dominoes!

We will also have a "Meet Up" board posted at the registration table for those who would like to go to dinner with a group.
