Welcome!
On behalf of the Program Committee, we would like to announce Quality Matters’ 4th Annual Conference on Quality Assurance in Online Learning. We invite you to join us October 3-6, 2012 at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, AZ. October 3rd is a day of pre-conference workshops, and the conference begins October 4th and concludes on the 6th.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Where Design and Content Converge," with special contributions from MERLOT. The conference includes pre-conference workshops, a reception, a keynote address, an awards ceremony, many concurrent sessions, networking opportunities, and exhibits.

Conference Tracks & Topics
1. Research: Reports from the Field
QM sponsored and independent research on areas in which QM has an effect, including things such as design practices and student learning to better understand the facts in the field.The track emphasizes action research. What is working? What isn't? How can we improve?
2. Implementing Quality Criteria for Design and Content
How to select and integrate third-party content. This includes criteria for determing quality in modules and courses.
3. Best Practices in Implementing QM
What makes faculty invested? What motivates students? Determining and spreading QM practices in other fields as well as non-profit and for- profit higher education.
4. QM, Quality Assurance Practices, and Accreditation
How QM implementation in higher education leads to quality assurance. The impact of QM implementation on regional and professional accreditationassociations' evaluation of distance learning programs.
5. Accessibility Today and Tomorrow
Successful programs and strategies to make distance learning more accessible, discussion or demonstration of tools and methods that assist in developing accesssible content, and rising standards for accessibility and how to meet them.
6. Raising the Bar in K-12 Online Learning
Efforts to implement QM standards in K-12 institutions. How QM meets the needs of this expanding field while also integrating national standards.
