The 2011 Annual Conference Program and Schedule has been posted!

Program Tracks:

  • New Contexts: new & innovative course formats, 3rd party content, social media, new learning management tools, portable devices, how are new contexts used for F2F?
  • NEW QM Tools: updated HE Rubric, 6-12 Rubric, Bill of Rights, Publisher Rubric
  • Spreading the Word: mainstreaming distance learning, developing school and business implementation plans, keeping faculty's engagement and attention, engaging committed faculty with new challenges, faculty recognition and reward, demonstrating quality for re-accreditation
  • K-12: disseminating Quality Standards in K-12 - gatekeepers, organizational models, the role of teacher education programs, etc.
  • Research: impact of QM process on faculty development; impact of QM course improvements on evidence-based student learning, persistence, retention; impact of QM process on institution

Presentation Formats:

  • 1 hour Conference Presentation (30 min. presentation + Q&A)
  • Panel Discussions (3-5 panelists; 5-8 minute opening presentations + discussion)

Topic areas:

  • Release of the 2011-2013 QM Rubric
  • Grades 6-12 Edition of the QM Rubric
  • Latest results of research in the area of quality in online learning
  • Future of internet based distance education.

Program Committee

Keynote Speaker:

This year's conference keynote speaker will be Mr. John Sener. Mr. Sener is the founder/CKO of Sener Knowledge LLC, a consulting practice focused on supporting quality in technology-enabled education through knowledge development and dissemination, evaluation, strategic planning, and learning design. He was the evaluator and a management team member for the FIPSE-funded Quality Matters project and is a member of the QM Academic Advisory Council. As Director of Special Initiatives for the Sloan Consortium, he is also involved in a wide variety of Sloan-C activities. His career in education and training over the past 30 years is a unique mixture of broad practical experience and academic expertise. He holds a M.S. degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Psychology from Oberlin College.

Mr. Sener's address is titled "Using QM to Improve Teaching and Learning in a Screen Captured World."

What are the dates for the conference and the pre-workshops?  I thought it was posted, but since the update of information it seems to have been deleted.

Hello, the 3rd Annual QM national conference is Nov. 7-9, 2011. Pre-conference workshops are Monday, November 7.
