About the Program

The Quality Matters (QM) Program is a nationally recognized, faculty-centered, peer review process designed to certify the quality of online courses and online components. Colleges and universities across the country use the tools in developing, maintaining and reviewing their online courses and in training their faculty. Learn More.

The Quality Matters Rubric has become the most widely used set of standards for the design of online and blended courses at the college level.  Today, more than 550 colleges and universities, about 10 percent of the U. S. higher education community, subscribe to the non-profit Quality Matters Program.

The QM Rubric is the most widely used benchmark of postsecondary online course design in the U.S., and it has also established itself as an effective professional development tool for faculty and teachers making the transition into distance education.
