Investigate Learning Objectives and Assessments

Printer-friendly versionSend to friendPDF version

This workshop reviews course- and module-level learning objectives while using alignment to ensure that assessments are varied and supportive of the learning objectives. Participants will apply these concepts to developing and/or reviewing their own course objectives and assessments. The content is based on Standards 2 and 3 of the Quality Matters Rubric that state: Learning objectives are clearly stated and explained. They assist students in focusing their efforts in the course. Assessment strategies use established ways to measure effective learning, evaluate student progress by reference to stated learning objectives, and are designed to be integral to the learning process.

It is intended for a broad audience, including but not limited to faculty, instructional designers, administrators, and adjunct instructors who wish to understand more about investigating learning objectives and assessments.
