This workshop briefly reviews effective learning objectives and through the concept of alignment links instructional materials and learner engagement. Participants will apply these concepts to developing and/or reviewing their own instructional materials as they relate to supporting learner engagement. The content is based on Standards 4 and 5 of the Quality Matters Rubric that state: Instructional materials are sufficiently comprehensive to achieve stated course objectives and learning outcomes and are prepared by qualified persons competent in their fields. Meaningful interaction between the instructor and students, among students, and between students and course materials is employed to motivate students and foster intellectual commitment and personal development.

It is intended for a broad audience, including but not limited to faculty, instructional designers, administrators, and adjunct instructors who wish to understand more about ensuring appropriate learner engagement through relevant instructional materials.

Specific Workshop Information

Option A: Face-to-face, 4 hours, up to 20 participants, $1,200 for subscribers/$1,500 for non QM-subscribers plus facilitator travel expenses, no prerequisite requirements, participant materials provided by QM.

Option B: Online, two weeks, facilitated, $150 per person for subscribers/$200 per person for non-subscribers, no prerequisite requirements.

Option C: Face-to-face provided via Collaborate connection. Contact QM for availability, scheduling and prices.
