Subscriber-Managed Course Reviews

Institutions on a Full Subscription and Statewide Subscribers have the ability to conduct official, subscriber-managed course reviews for QM recognition.

Please post any questions you have about conducting Subscriber-Managed course reviews.

I am trying to write a statement for faculty about payment for QM reviews.  We pay for faculty to become certified reviewers.  We have not asked for anything in return.  However, now, we would like to write a ask them to do one review for our institution "for free" in return.  Do you all think that is reasonable?  Also, I would like to include wording about how doing QM Reviews could count as part of their "service" or "professional development" activities.

Has anyone written something similar that they could share with me?

What is the usual amount paid to external reviewers for a subscriber managed review?

Hi Sherri, I spoke with Melissa Poole regarding your question.
The stipends for subscriber managed review are determined by the institution and should be communicated before accepting a peer reviewer role.  Typically they pay $250 to the chairs and $150 to the other two reviewers.

I suggest that QM provide the following guidance to all reviewers somehow when they conduct reviews:

"When providing feedback on QM reviews it would be a tremendous help if you would indicate where you found a particular piece of evidence in the course that demonstrated that the Standard was being addressed.  Other reviewers can look at the draft, and if they cannot find things, they could refer to your comments for assistance."

If this were implemented Chairs could then look at the final draft and where there is a clear difference of opinion on whether something is there or not could direct Reviewers to look at these particular standards and see if these comments help.  It may even result in not having to have post-review conferences in some cases.

Can anybody tell me where the current IR and MR documents are posted?  Specifically, is there a new document that gives the Rubric access instructions?  I cannot find one anywhere.

Thanks.

Buddy,

The old documents have been removed because the processes have changed so much with the new CRMS.

We are going with a portal concept for QM subscribers so that there is a single sign-on now for everything you need to access.  The portal is your MyQM account.

In MyQM, you will be able to access the groups to which you belong (IR and MR are two of these groups).  Within these groups are some documents that can help you...but we are in the process of adding many more as we move and update documents.

If by Rubric, you mean the online Course Review Management Tool, you will find this link in your MyQM account as well, under My Tools.

Thanks Deb.  I have reviewed all the things in both of those groups (MR and IR) and I do not see any documents.  There used to be a document that I included last fall as Course Review Manager that listed the steps for accessing the Rubric.  I'll send you what I mean via email.  If that does not exist, or will be refitted for accessing the new rubric tool, that's fine.  I'll just make my own by retracing the steps reviewers take in the new tool to get to and operate with the Rubric.

Thanks again.  Happy weekend.

I am a new institutional representative and cannot access any of the document links listed within My QM. Each link "document library" etc. that I click on gives me an "access denied" message.

Hello Luke,

I am sorry you are having difficulty.  I will email you the login information we have on file for you for MyQM.  I logged in as you and was able to access the information.  Please look for the email shortly.

Thanks.
